Over the weekend of Saturday the 31st of March and Sunday the 1st of April Challenge Stadium played host to the best junior swimmers in WA. The Junior State championships are always an exciting event, where WAs junior talent go head to head. One year ago Swan Hills only had one individual swimmer compete, and one silver medal winning relay team. In 2012 the team was considerably larger! There were four relay teams and 7 individual swimmers.
All swimmers swan PBs, and our overall PB rate was 61.7%. Swan Hills also came away with several individual medals – Hayley Antill won the 11 years 200 Backstroke, came second in the 400 freestyle and third in the 100 Backstroke. Kelsey Eastwood came second in the 11 years 100 and 200 Butterfly.
Well done to all swimmers for their excellent efforts – I’m sure we will see even more swimmers competing at the next state championships!
