The first Torpedo Club of 2011-2012 was held on Saturday the 22nd of October – coinciding with the Swan Park Leisure Centre Open Day. Approximately 20 swimmers took part in learning how to dive and they competed in several relays. It was excellent to see so many younger brothers and sisters taking part in the session. It looks like Swan Hills will have an excellent future given the caliber of swimming that was displayed. Well done to all who took part!
Photos are now available (photos page). Don’t forget the next Torpedo Club will be on Saturday November 19 (event info).
Children who enjoy days like torpedo club, club night and Dive and Try are encouraged to join the club to swim in competitions. It is very rewarding for young swimmers to set goals and reach them, it also gives them some direction and focus in their swimming training.
